To look up your precinct, first click on the link representing the first three digits of your zip code. That will bring you to the appropriate section of this page where you can click on your five-digit zip code.
Each zip code page has street names and number ranges; find the appropriate listing and click on the link showing precinct and district, to go to your precinct page.
If you want to bypass the finder and see links to precinct pages sorted by County or by Senate District, then click on the appropriate link.
Each precinct page has all the data that I can get my hands on which might be relevant to voters or activists.
This edition contains every 2006 polling place (with changes noted), district assignment, links to local unit DFL websites, DFL endorsed candidates for local offices, Legislature and Congress, contact information, and links to their websites. You will also find maps of each precinct, house district, and senate district, congressional district, plus many wards and county commissioner districts. DFL Links meetup sites are listed. Also shown are the 2004 polling places, county auditor contact information, and population figures. Each precinct page also has a link to a printable lit piece containing polling place, candidates and voting eligibility and ID requirements.
Future editions will contain numbers of registered voters, voter turnout (as a percentage of both), and other precinct voting and demographic data will also be added as it comes to me. If you want to help speed that process along, just send data (or links to it) to me at tim@morse.net. See the GOTV page for more information on data needs. Click here for precinct page updates.
CD-ROM copies of the entire precinct finder site, including maps and other files, are now available. They cost $5.00 each. You will only need one copy; the contents of the disc can be copied onto the hard drives of each computer in your office. Reading off of the hard drive will work faster than reading directly off the cd-rom, and is necessary to apply any updates. To obtain a CD-ROM copy, do the following: first go to CD4's website at http://www.dfl4cd.org/civicspace and look for the paypal button for making donations to CD4's sample ballot effort. Use that button to donate $5.00 for each CD-ROM. Be sure to fill out the full address and also the occupation/employer fields, for campaign finance records. When you're done, paypal will email you a confirmation. Forward that confirmation to me at tim@morse.net and I will send out your CD-ROMs right away. If you are in the metro and would prefer to pick up your copy at the Coordinated Campaign office at 2233 University Ave W in St Paul, let me know and I will drop off a copy with your name on it instead of mailing out your copy. The first batch will be dropped off or mailed Friday, November 3, around noon.
